This product is used to increase the pH of hot tub water. It is granular (dry). So if you test the water and the pH is low add some of this to increase it. Keeping the pH of the water in the recommended range will help make the sanitizer work normally and help keep the water clear. The pH and the sanitizer (usually chlorine) are the most important water chemistry factors to monitor and keep in the recommended range.
